1893 – Born on this day, Memphis blues artist Walter “Furry” Lewis. He was the first guitarist to play with a bottleneck.
1945 – Hugh Grundy (Zombies) is born.
1946 – David Gilmour of “Pink Floyd” is born today.
1965 – Rolling Stones are in Liverpool tracking a new record, “Got Live if You Want It”.
1967 – The Beatles recorded sound effects onto the song ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ at Abbey Road studios in London.
1970 – The Beatles release “Let it Be” as a single in the UK.
1970 – Charles Manson releases his own LP, “Lie.”
1973 – Slade were at No.1 on the UK singles chart with ‘Cum On Feel The Noize’.
1975 -  Led Zeppelin ‘s “Physical Graffiti” goes gold!
1989 – Steven Tyler of Aerosmith and wife give birth to Chelsea Anna Tyler.
1990 - Aerosmith were inducted into Hollywood’s Rock Walk on Sunset Boulevard in the midst of a three night sellout stand at The Forum in Los Angeles.
2004 – David Crosby is arrested for leaving a bag of Marijuana, a knife and a loaded .45 gun in a hotel room in New York.
2005 – Metal DJ “Tommy Vance” dies from a stroke. His claim to fame is a Rock show played on Friday nights for the BBC.
2005 – Welsh trio The Stereophonics top the U.K. singles chart with “Dakota.”
2006 – In the wake of its pre-release leak, the new Pearl Jam single, “World Wide Suicide,” becomes available for free download.
2008 – A UK charity warned that nine out of ten young people had experienced the first signs of hearing damage after listening to loud music.
2013 - Alvin Lee, the founder of Ten Years After died unexpectedly from complications following a routine surgical procedure. He was 68.
2014 - Adam Lambert and Queen announced that they were teaming up for a 19-date North American tour.
2016 - Reports began appearing that Graham Nash made comments to the Dutch publication Lust For Life that indicated that the end of the line had come for Crosby, Stills And Nash. He was quoted as saying "You asked me if there's more of CSN? My answer is no, and that's very sad,because we're pretty good. But I don't like David Crosby right now. He's been awful to me these last two years.
