1931 – Allen Klein, who managed both the Beatles and Rolling Stones, is born in Newark, N.J. 1938 – Musician and manager Chas (Bryan) Chandler is born. Chandler was a member of the Animals, and managed the career of Jimi Hendrix. 1943 – Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones is born in Kent. 1953 – Left-handed guitarist Elliot Easton, best known for playing with the Cars, is born in Brooklyn, N.Y. 1962 – The Beatles make their final trip to Hamburg, West Germany, during their early pre-fame days. They play the Star Club for two weeks. 1963 – White Lion drummer Greg D’Angelo is born. 1966 – Pink Floyd plays London’s Blarney Club. A week later the club changes its name to the UFO Club and quickly becomes a centre of psychedelic music activity where Pink Floyd are the house band. 1968 – On the occasion of the Underground Art Movement’s Christmas party in London, John Lennon and Yoko Ono hold a press conference from the inside of a white bag. Ono calls it “Bag-ism.” 1971 – Jerry Lee Lewis divorces his cousin Myra Gale Brown. They married in 1957 when she was 13 years old. 1975 - During a press conference in London, Rod Stewart announced his departure from The Faces, due to Ron Wood joining The Rolling Stones & Stewart thinking he was better off as a solo artist. 1978 – Led Zeppelin finish recording their last studio album In Through the Out Door. 1983 – Keith Richards gets married to Patti Hansen on his 40th birthday. Mick Jagger acts as best man at the ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. 1993 – Authorities discover the body of Douglas Hopkins in Arizona. The Gin Blossoms songwriter had killed himself on December 5. 2003 – Audioslave’s Tom Morello and System of a Down’s Serj organize a benefit concert for striking grocery workers in Los Angeles. 2004 - A guitar played by George Harrison & John Lennon sold for $570,000 at a New York auction. The Gibson SG guitar was used by Harrison during the recording of Revolver & by Lennon during sessions for The White Album.
