1947 – Tom Schulz (Boston) is born in Toledo Ohio. Tom was guitarist mastermind behind the mega group Boston. 1958 – Chuck Berry’s Sweet Little Sixteen is US R&B No. 1 1963 – Jeff Ament (Pearl Jam) is born. 1966 – Edie Brickell is born in Oak Cliff, Texas. 1971 – Beatles manager Allen Klein is barred from involvement in the band’s affairs as the Fab Four’s career together winds down. 1972 – America awarded gold disc for Horse with No Name. 1973 – The Pink Floyd album ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ was released in America, it spent over 740 weeks on the chart over a 14-year period. 1973 – Born on this day, John Charles LeCompt, guitar, Evanescence. 1974 – David Bowie performs the Philadelphia concert that is later released as the album David Live. 1981 – Jimmy Page makes his first solo appearance since the dissolution of Led Zeppelin, joining Jeff Beck onstage in London to jam through three encores. 1984 – Ian Gillan leaves Black Sabbath. 1984 – Van Halen held the No.1 position on the US singles chart with ‘Jump’. 1996 – Alanis Morissette won Best Album for ‘Jagged Little Pill’, Best Female singer, Best Rock Album, Best songwriter and best single at the 25th Juno Awards held in Hamilton, Canada. 1998 – Eric Clapton’s “Pilgrim” is issued worldwide. 1998 – Scott Weiland, lead singer of Alt-Rock group Stone Temple Pilots, debuts his solo career with “12 Bar Blues” on Atlantic. 2002 – Alanis Morissette went to No.1 on the US album chart and No.2 on the UK chart with ‘Under Rug Swept.’ 2003 – An eclectic array of artists induct the new members into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at New York’s Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. No Doubt’s Gwen Stefani inducts the Police, while Aerosmith vocalist Steven Tyler inducts AC/DC. Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello introduces the surviving members of the Clash, Elton John inducts Elvis Costello, and Billy Joel salutes the Righteous Brothers. 2003 – The White Stripes postpone an Austin concert after drummer Meg White slides on some ice and fractures her wrist in two places. 2011 – Bon Jovi is No. 1 currently in Box Office tours.
